Andy Cunningham, the man who brought joy to thousands of children with TV show Bodger And Badger, has died at the age of 67 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Among other things he was a magician and puppeteer but was best known for his work on BBC children’s comedy Bodger & Badger. He created the series, from concept to script to designing the puppets. Cunningham played handyman Simon Bodger, whose badly behaved companion was a talking badger who wore a red beret and loved mashed potatoes. He also did the voice of Badger. The programme ran from 1989 to 1999.
