70s pop idol and star of The Partridge Family has died after suffering multiple organ failure. David Cassidy had previously announced that he was suffering from dementia.

What are people's policies on picks who die prior to 1 Jan, but get no announcement until a little after? Signed, guy who's got a feeling one of his picks for next year might just be waiting until after the funeral to announce a death.
